Driven by their love for the hidden untouched beauties of the world, Jonathan and Pamela headed North East to one of the most remote parts of Uganda into Kidepo Valley National Park and immediately fell in love. The park is surrounded by the Karamojong people who are one of Uganda’s most protected tribes. The lodge was built in the middle of the park next to the Narus River that attracts a wide range of animals.
Date Renewal
We regularly maintain, renew and refurb our lodge. The last refurb was done last year (2019).
Main Strengths, Special Touch
Guests are assured of exclusivity. There is abundance of wildlife i.e wild cats, elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, antelopes, warthog etc. Guests can see all these without even having to leave their rooms or the lodge.
Location
Apoka is located in the middle of Kidepo Valley National Park in Kaabong district.
Key sites/activities in the area
Game drives and nature walks
Fun Facts
On some occasions, the lions make their way to the camp and can be seen from inside your suite. This is Uganda’s only park where giraffe and zebra are found together. The swimming pool at Apoka Lodge has been carved out of the big rock.
Children’s Corner
The lodge is child friendly, however being in the middle of the park, guests are encouraged to take extra care of their children while they are with us.
