History & Story
Phum Baitang, the ’green village’, is a 5* luxury resort opening on 1 September near Siem Reap, a mere ten minutes drive from the bustling town centre and the Angkor Wat, in a tranquil, rural location. This elegant hideaway is set within eight acres of lush gardens and paddy fields. It comprises forty-five spacious villas, twenty-five with private terrace and twenty with private plunge pool. The wooden and stilted villas are inspired both inside and out by traditional Cambodian design, offering guests an authentic local experience. Phum Baitang’s two restaurants serve delicious meals using local produce, fresh organic herbs and vegetables from the resort’s own gardens. At the Cigar & Cocktail Lounge, situated in a lovingly restored 100-year old farmhouse, guests can sip a cocktail while watching the sun set over lush paddy fields. The Kids offers a variety of games and activities exploring Cambodian culture and history, children can also take part in an Angkor discovery tour and in rice-harvesting activities. A luxurious and tranquil Spa Temple offers seven treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and relaxation area. A yoga pavilion, fully-equipped gym and 50m outdoor infinity pool with adjacent pool bar complete the resort’s leisure facilities.
Built and opened in 2015, designers are Paris-based AW2 and Arnaud Zannier.
