HOTEL Pretty Beach House
History & Story
Pretty Beach House is the epitome of laidback Australian luxury and truly a rare find. This small, private hotel strikes the perfect balance between luxury, intimacy, privacy & highly personalised service.
Located in the incredibly beautiful NSW Bouddi National Park, the property opened in 2015 and since has been awarded many accolades and industry awards including being named in the Conde Nast Gold List and Hot Hotels of the World.
Bouddi is an aboriginal word for “heart” – and at the heart of the Bouddi National Park lies beautiful, Pretty Beach House. It’s an easy 90-minute drive north of Sydney, or you can also arrive by helicopter, ferry or seaplane.
The property is built by artisans & craftspeople who made many features by hand, including a decommissioned bridge from Queensland that was built in 1893. The beautiful rustic posts feature in the main house and also in Treetops Pavilion.
A blacksmith who lives off the grid in the NSW Blue Mountains hand made the bar and the brass fixtures and local sandstone was carved by a local stonemason for the fireplace and the floors. Mud brick walls were lovingly built by hand. However, as you’d expect from a wold-class hotel this earthiness is all wrapped up in relaxed, unpretentious luxury.
There is fine French porcelain and Sheffield cutlery, as well as handmade local stoneware and the bed linen is from an eighth generation Italian company, handmade on 350-year-old looms.
Simplicity, elegance and personalised service are evident in every aspect of Pretty Beach House. Guided bushwalks, wildlife encounters, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, horse riding, cultural tours, scenic flights, cooking classes, fishing excursions, boat trips to secluded bays and beaches, are all experiences which can be arranged.
The cuisine is a highlight of any visit to Pretty Beach House and a true culinary experience. Daily menus feature fresh, seasonal ingredients with much of the produce coming from the kitchen garden. Australian native foods such as pepper berries, finger limes, lemon myrtle, wattle seed & Davidson plum are incorporated onto the food offering and the chefs are inspired daily by the Indigenous bush tucker growing naturally on and around the property.
Bouddi Spa at Pretty Beach House is a haven for guests to escape and de-stress with spa treatments thoughtfully designed to rebalance the synergy between mind, body and soul. Pure Australian botanicals from LI’TYA spa range are featured, offering a true spirit of place and connection to the earth.
A warm and welcoming small hotel, unlike any other in the world. Once you arrive you will not want to leave.
