Eduardo Bressane – Eduardo Bressane has returned to Belmond as General Manager for Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, effective 14th July 2017.
Eduardo has over 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry. He joins Belmond from the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu in China where he has held the role of Hotel Manager since March 2015. Prior to that, Eduardo was with Belmond as Director of Food & Beverage at Belmond Copacabana Palace.
Earlier roles also include working as Partner/Owner at EB Consultoria hotel and restaurants, as various other F&B Leadership roles at the Fasano Group of hotels & restaurants, Hyatt and Hilton.

History & Story
The only hotel located within Brazil’s Iguassu National Park, Belmond Hotel das Cataratas invites you to enjoy an unrivalled location, just a short stroll from the sensational waterfalls. The exclusive access to this magnificent sight in the evening and at dawn, when the park is closed to other visitors, gives you the perfect scenario of an unique and personal paradise. This natural escape also offers thrills and excitement in abundance: helicopter trips over the gorge and jungle treks to view amazing wildlife including colorful toucans and giant butterflies and the exclusive Full Moon Tour to witness a sight rarely seen by most people in their lifetime – the Lunar Rainbow.
Main Strengths, Special Touch
During the full moon, guests can witness the lunar rainbow, a sight rarely seen by most of people. Traverse hidden trails as you spot bats, lizards and other wildlife. This unique tour is led by our resident biologist and lasts around 90 minutes.
The hotel only have the falls in its neighborhood, which give our guests unique experiences, even before the check in.

Backstage Experience : The rare wildlife makes Iguassu one of the best places to visit in Brazil. Visit the Bird Park and meet baby birds and rare parrots. Feed toucans and flamingos by hand, or come face to face with an anaconda.
Bird Park: Brazil is home to some of the world’s most magnificent birds. Meet a variety at the Bird Park, a beloved bird sanctuary just moments from the Iguassu National Park entrance.
Forest Experience: Gather around a campfire at dusk with indigenous Guarani-Mbya. Take part in an authentic welcome ritual, feast on traditional cuisine and enact a tobacco ceremony with tribal elders.
Waterfall Rappelling and Rafting: Anticipate a life-changing experience with a thrilling 10-minute flight above the Falls. Enjoy a unique perspective of the entire park and the colossal power of the tumbling waters.
Macuco Safari: One of the best ways to experience the Lower Falls is by speedboat. As part of our popular Macuco Safari, you’ll start your journey with a jeep ride through the rainforest canopy before transferring to a speedboat downriver.
Morning Walks: As the only hotel within Brazil’s Iguassu National Park, guests can join a series of exclusive guided walking excursions.
Poço Preto: For a deep dive into the rainforest, Iguassu Experiences offers an adventure across both land and water.
Waterfall Rappelling and Rafting: Set your pulse racing as you rappel 20m down the famous Salto Macuco waterfall. Alternatively, conquer the rapids on the Iguassu River. After a traditional Macuco Safari, swap boats at the rafting station for a white-knuckle experience.

On the way between the hotel and park entrance guests can find wildlife, some with luck may even find the jaguar.

Ipê Grill : The menu include a unique experience at our Barbecue station. Tender meat and inventive sides are enjoyed poolside. The restaurant also serves a delicious buffet breakfast .
Itaipu Restaurant: The menu features a tempting selection of signature Brazilian – International dishes.
Bar Tarobá: Start the evening with a cooling drink. A cozy meeting place for socializing or see the incredible sunset at our balcony.
