ESTANCIA LA BAMBA DE ARECO
History & Story
La Bamba de Areco, located only at 120 km from Buenos Aires and close to San Antonio de Areco in the heart of the Pampa, is one of the oldest estancias in Argentina. Recently renovated with great care as a boutique hotel, successfully combines luxurious comfort and colonial elegance. In the 10 rooms and suites, dark wooden floors, antique colonial furniture, art works, local textiles and modern art combine to create understated elegance and harmonious luxury.
The oldest building dated back to the XVIIIth Century is La Pulperia. It served as a shelter for horses and carriages before, later being converted into an inn where the gauchos would sing, dance or dine. Today it has become in a unique retreat for reading, relaxing, having a glass of wine or sharing a cup of tea.
Excursions on horseback, by carriage, or mountain bike, fishing, Argentinian bowls game, the large swimming pool and the numerous relaxation areas offer the traveller an unforgettable restful experience and an incomparable way to restore energy.
The park, originally of 16 hectares, has been extended to 30 hectares, incorporating now 2 of the most sophisticated polo fields, within hundreds of new trees. La Bamba de Areco also serves as the base of the international polo team that bears its name. Guests can watch games and practices sessions during high season.
The spirit of the place is authenticity, the art of colonial luxury, history and tradition, attention to details, and people feel they are in a private houseLa Bamba has recently become a Relais & Chateaux and a Virtuoso Member.
