Introducing Oliver Schuschner – Resort Manager, Nayara Springs – Relais & Châteaux
Growing up in Switzerland, Oliver was attracted to the luxury hospitality industry from a young age. During his studies at Les Roches Hotel School in Valais, Switzerland, he worked in top hotels and restaurants as a waiter and even a cook to gain experience; a time during which his passion for the industry grew stronger. After graduating with merit, Oliver fine-tuned his management training at the Camino Real hotel in Puerto Vallarta.
Oliver then went on to gain experience in the food & beverage side of the industry at Four Seasons Mexico City, JW Marriott and Costa Rica Marriott. Oliver then joined the team at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa in Costa Rica as Resident Manager, and was responsible for the property’s entry into The Leading Hotels of the World.
He also worked as Hotel Manager at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, which was similarly a member of Leading Hotels of the World, and received a prestigious Five Diamond award.
5-Star luxury – Relais & Chateaux
We are looking to increase our presence in the European market. Also develop the adventure and wellness segment – with such a unique location in the hear of the Rainforest it is the perfect sanctuary for wellness and midfullness retreats.
Nayara Springs – Relais & Châteaux
History & Story
Our vision was to create the most exceptional boutique hotel in all of Costa Rica; a secluded place of understated luxury that would not take away from the authenticity of a real rainforest experience. In order not to disturb the dense verdant jungle, we built a 250-foot pedestrian bridge above the canopies of the trees -the hotel’s only communication to the outside world- a pathway that gives guests privacy and peace from the moment they arrive.
We offer all the amenities of a 5-star hotel: two oversized infinity edge pools that merge into the forest where one can spy toucans and hummingbirds or greet the friendly macaws that call Nayara Springs – Relais & Châteaux home; an award winning spa with outdoor treatment bungalows, sauna and steam rooms; and two restaurants: AmorLoco, a piano bar lounge serving lunch by the pool and candelight gourmet dinners with live music, and Mis Amores, our Mediterranean bistro, an outdoor terrace overlooking the volcano and the forest where we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Our exceptional staff of local men and women is committed to exceeding even the most discerning international traveler’s expectations for an unparalleled, intimate and authentic Costa Rican rainforest experience.

Restaurants & Bars
Our interpretation of a Latin Bistro served in a spectacular al-fresco setting overlooking the Arenal Volcano. Wood oven specialties, including pizza and delicious dishes with contemporary Mexican influences. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Amor Loco
In all of our restaurants and bars we aim to spoil our guests with superb gourmet meals, but Amor Loco is our gastronomic gem: a fine dining restaurant in the heart of the rainforest, complimented with stylish décor, plush velvet chairs, exotic lighting, and a polished onyx bar top.
• Mi Cafecito
Smell the most delicious coffee aromas as we roast our own Costa Rican organic cocoa beans in our newest addition, an espresso bar/lounge/library. A must visit! We roast, filter and serve all kinds of coffees and teas with sumptuous desserts and cookies.
•The spa at nayara springs is a sanctuary of serenity, beauty and indulgence perched above the majestic rainforest. Our goal was to create a beautiful retreat where body, mind and nature join together in perfect harmony and peace.
•Private open-air treatment pavilions look to the rainforest and come with Jacuzzis and outdoor showers. In addition to classic massages and facials, treatments include scrubs and wraps with organic coffee, volcanic mud, and chocolate clay. The spa also has a steam and sauna room, and offers hand and feet treatments, signature rituals, and combination packages.
