Hotel Positioning
5 star – Relais & Châteaux
Development strategy
The Auberge du Jeu de Paume enjoys a matchless location. This establishment, set deep within the Domaine de Chantilly, is named after the Jeu de Paume beside it, built in the 18th century by Louis-Joseph, Prince of Condé. Alongside this historic ball-and-court site, the hotel blends handsomely with the surrounding grounds. One of the two main façades, with portions listed as historic constructions, overlooks the grounds of the Château and Fountain of Beauvais. The other rises from the symbolic boundary of the Saint Denis Gate leading to the city.
AUBERGE DU JEU DE PAUME
History & Story
Forty kilometers north of Paris lies a road that winds across the ages. Passing the lush, sylvan curtain rising along its length, travelers find themselves contemplating history. Before their eyes, the Domaine de Chantilly spreads out in all its splendor, as it did in the days of Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale, son of the last king of the French.
The Auberge du Jeu de Paume was established in 2012 to offer accommodations – capturing the full breadth and depth of this heritage – to those who truly appreciate culture, horse riding, the finest dining and the wonders of nature. Within these grounds, just steps from the Musée Condé, the Great Stables and the Hippodrome, stands this five-star Relais & Chateaux, the point of departure for exploring an extraordinary place, one which, even on this peaceful, bucolic estate, thrums with the excitement of top-notch events.
These sumptuous surroundings are imbued with the history of France. This is a place where luxury and tradition meet in timeless perfection, where premium materials and expertise come together to create elegance and sophistication – a place that exemplifies the inimitable French art de vivre.
