History & Story
King Maximilian II from Bavaria had the five-star hotel built on his boulevard Maximilianstrasse as the «most beautiful hotel in the city». Its proximity to the opera house and the Residenz more or less made it a court guest house. Even today it has not lost its special atmosphere and still belongs to the most well-known luxury hotels in Europe.
