NOBU HOTEL SHOREDITCH
History & Story
The expressive and distinctive design for the new Nobu Hotel Shoreditch is the result of the collective efforts of Ron Arad Architects and Ben Adams Architects featuring overhanging floor slabs and cantilevered steel beams forming a frayed edge to the east, where a landscaped garden is terraced to provide natural light to the restaurant space. The interior of the hotel was designed by local designers, Studio Mica. All parties worked in collaboration to create a seamless transition between the hotel and the restaurant.
Newly opened July 2017

Key sites/activities in the area
Within a stone’s throw of Nobu Hotel Shoreditch, you can indulge your senses in a culmination of sights, sounds and aromas by visiting one of East London’s vibrant markets, while absorbing the creative energy from the street art that decorates the Shoreditch walls.
For a spot of retail therapy, Shoreditch offers an extensive range of vintage, independent and designer stores, allowing you to experience the original designs that have defined London as one of the fashion capitals of the world.
Nobu Hotel Shoreditch benefits not only from the charming local attractions, but also its prime location for visiting London’s iconic landmarks. The London Eye, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben are all easily accessible by public transport. Alternatively, take a stroll over to the spectacular sights of St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London and Tower Bridge, just 30 minutes away.
The first two London theatres were built in Shoreditch – The Theatre and The Curtain Theatre. Shoreditch became the ample home of theatre and tomfoolery as the Lord Mayor prohibited such plays to be performed within the City walls.
William Shakespeare came to Shoreditch as an actor and it is thought he lived down Holywell Street in Bishopsgate. His plays ‘Henry V’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ are believed to have premiered at The Curtain Theatre in the late 1590s

Restaurants & Bars
Pioneered and created by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the iconic Nobu menu is influenced by his years of studying Japanese cuisine in Tokyo and his extensive travels. The diverse celebration of flavours formed Nobu’s trademark ‘Nobu Style’, which is intrinsic to all Nobu menus worldwide. As well as the classics, Nobu Shoreditch serves unique plates inspired by the creativity and vibrancy of the local area.
The 240-seat restaurant lies at the heart of the building, spanning almost the entire footprint of the hotel. Inspired by the iconic Nobu aesthetics, the restaurant features a sleek wooden finish which creates a cool and contemporary environment for all day dining and entertaining. Within the restaurant lies the Nobu Shoreditch Bar, serving a wide selection of cocktails, international wines and Japanese whiskies.
From the restaurant bar, guests enter the private courtyard via a five-metre-high glass wall, flooding the space with natural daylight. The courtyard offers open air dining when the weather allows it, with seating for up to 80 people within the partially-covered four level terraces.
Available 24-hours a day, the Fitness Center offers state-of-the-art Technogym® equipment for guests with access to a personal trainer, upon request.
Guests are greeted into a serene environment accented by Tatami greens and exposed block work. Following your workout, relax with a cleanse in one of our steam rooms.
Guests may choose to experience Nobu spa treatments such as Nobu Zen, Shiatsu, the Jet-Lag massage and more, in the spa’s three treatment rooms.
