Gerhard Mitrovits, originally from Austria, is a cosmopolitan and with more than 40 years in the hotel business an experienced hotelier. In 2007, he was named Hotel Manager of the Year in Germany. He also began his career at Kempinski in 2007 with the successful opening of the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, before taking over the management of the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski in Moscow in 2010. From 2013 to 2016, Mitrovits headed the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center and then the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski in Cairo, before becoming General Manager of Palais Hansen Kempinski in April 2017.

Heritage-listed five-star-superior Palais Hansen Kempinski is located at Schottenring, right at the famous Ring Boulevard. Originally built as a hotel for the World Exhibition in 1873, this building captivates with contemporary design, modern architecture and luxury.

The Renaissance Revival architecture combined with innovative touches like an iPad version of the traditional hotel information covering everything from room service to outdoor activities create a symbiosis of Viennese tradition and present-day zeitgeist.
