Authentically of the city: Each hotel is different because each city is different. Each hotel reflects and forms part of the life and spirit of the city.
Forte Family: The active role of the family – which has been dedicated to hospitality for four generations – lends our hotels’ authentic flair and family charm. It provides an innate understanding of our guests and informs everything from the selection of the hotels to their design and the style of service. Every member of our team is a member of the Forte family.

Key sites/activities in the area
Museum Brandhorst – With the Museum Brandhorst, the Kunstareal museum complex has gained a significant new addition. In conjunction with the collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne, the multifaceted profile of modern and contemporary art has been expanded in an impressive manner.
Cathedral Church of Our Lady – Both onion domes of the Gothic cathedral and city-parish church known as the Frauenkirche (full name: “Dom zu unserer Lieben Frau” or “Cathedral of Our Dear Lady”) are an unmistakable symbol of the city of Munich.
Englischer Garten (“English Garden”) is one of the largest 4 urban parks in the world. The layout has undergone constant change throughout the centuries as new buildings and green spaces were added time and again.

Restaurants & Bars
Sophia’s is a restaurant, a bar and a cosy lounge, next to the Old Botanical Garden in the centre of Munich. The new botanical bistronomy concept is all about gastronomic excellence and refined food in a comfortable and relaxed setting, in Munich, for the people of Munich. Sophia’s also introduces a newly created cocktail bar, the entrance of which is just to the right of The Charles Hotel.
Sophia’s menu stresses the importance of regional and seasonal products, with some guest appearances from more exotic flavours and ingredients. Though the highest quality meats and freshest fish are also available from Head Chef Michael Hüsken’s specialist butcher and fishermen, vegetables, fruits, spices and herbs take centre stage.
Sophia’s Bar menu continues in the botanical theme, with well balanced and imaginative drinks created by Bar Manager Roman Kern. Roman re-invents the classics by mixing natural essences, drying fruit and vegetables, creating powders out of liqueurs, freezing herbs and pickling spices. These can be enjoyed to the sound of a rotating program of well-known DJs and talented musicians.
The 800sqm The Charles Spa is the ultimate urban spa experience. Our retreat in the heart of the city is the perfect place to escape the pace of city life. Enjoy an array of treatments, tailored to individual needs, and carried out by our expert therapists. Swim in Munich´s longest indoor pool and relax in our Finnish sauna and steam bath or exercise in the fully equipped gym.
