Samata has two alternating Cruise Directors, Michael and Heikki who are both highly experienced in running trips throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
Samata – Sanskrit for harmony, balance and tranquillity – is a 42-metre traditional phinisi yacht that offers guests the ultimate private luxurious sailing experience un understated chic surrounds while exploring the islands of Indonesia. Whether it’s the limestone cliffs of Raja Ampat, the historical Banda Islands or the volcanic topography and wildlife of Komodo National Park, Samata travels to a wealth of exotic destinations. Her crew of 14 includes a cruise director, a chef, a dive master and a massage therapist.
Handcrafted in 2006 in Sulawesi, Samata combines French interior design, European styling, open-plan living and dining, and contemporary amenities.

Samata offers tailored activities for every guest, including kayaking, wakeboarding, tubing, snorkelling, fishing, bird watching, and trekking. Samata is fully equipped to cater to divers of all levels.
Samata offers guests a floating dining experience with a gourmet chef to meet every culinary wish. Guests can design meals alongside the chef and dine indoors or and outdoors under the stars, or enjoy a beach barbeque on the surrounding islands.

Shoulder seasons include the Alor archipelago, Ambon & the Banda Islands, the Forgotten Islands, Cenderawasih Bay and Kaimana.
There is spectacular diving and snorkelling throughout the Indonesian archipelago within the coral triangle, not to mention ample wildlife above the surface and pristine beaches. Highlights of each area include endemic Komodo dragons in Komodo National Park, authentic villages in the Alor archipelago, fascinating spice trade history in the Banda Islands and otherworldly landscapes in Raja Ampat.
Samata arranges amazing experiences, from candlelit dinners on deserted beaches to cruising through mangroves onboard the tender, exploring islands and coastlines, trekking to spectacular viewpoints, seeking out fascinating wildlife, and learning to scuba dive at some of the world’s best sites.
Samata is accustomed to accommodating families and has no minimum age.
Cabins and living space
Samata’s solid hardwood and white leather interiors are a stylish ode to traditional Indonesian craftsmanship merged with modern design. The yacht has 5 air-conditioned en-suite guest cabins, finished with white leather and 1000-thread count linens. Cabins feature a comfortable seating area with a TV, storage space and stocked mini bars, as well as private en-suite bathrooms. The master suite is situated at the stern of the upper deck and features a king-size bed with 270-degree views through wraparound windows, a lounge area equipped with a TV, and a private sundeck. The en-suite bathroom is spacious with a shower and vanity unit. There are 3 further deluxe suites featuring queen-size beds and sofas that can be converted into beds for additional children, and 1 twin cabin.
Samata’s indoor living room is designed with contemporary comfort in mind, decorated with quality fittings and hints of the tropics with materials such as white oak, limestone, cracked coconut and mother of pearl. The lounge features modern leather sofas with a TV, on-demand movies, books and board games. A decadent indoor dining room is perfect for entertaining with wraparound windows, high quality Leitner table linen and Alessi cutlery. Out on deck, there’s a lounge dotted with sunbeds and an alfresco dining area for enjoying meals with spectacular views.
Samata offers superb service with a committed staff of 14 onboard. Everything is included providing a true luxury experience – massage, wine, spirits and beverages, complimentary stocked mini bars and use of diving/snorkeling equipment, kayaks, wakeboards/water ski and sports equipment all excursions and onshore trips and guides.
